Question to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities:

To ask the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, if he will bring forward legislative proposals to introduce a statutory obligation to provide sanitary bins in (a) existing and (b) newly built men's toilets.

We are considering how regulations and other approaches meet the needs of all toilet users, including carrying out research on the needs of all people using toilets and wider research on Part M of the Building Regulations (on access to, and use of buildings). Evidence gathered will help government consider what changes should or can be made to statutory guidance on toilet provision and facilities.
