Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many burglaries were reported in each ward in Preston City Council in each of the first six months of 2015; and how many of those burglaries were attended by a member of Lancashire Constabulary to investigate.

The Home Office does not hold the data requested. Information is not centrally held on burglary incidents reported to police forces and the status of each investigation. We do expect all crimes reported to the police to be taken seriously, investigated and, where appropriate, taken through the courts and met with tough sentences.

The Home Office collects and publishes data on notifiable offences that are recorded by the police including burglaries and where applicable the outcome of these offences but this data is not available by ward.
