Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what plans his Department has to improve the quality of care for patients with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
No specific assessment on reducing variation in care for patients with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis has been made.
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidance ‘Crohn’s disease: management, published in May 2019, and Ulcerative colitis: management’, also published in May 2019, set out best practice to improve and standardise the quality of care in the diagnosis, treatment care and support of patients with the condition.
