Cancer: Mortality Rates

Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what steps he plans to take to improve cancer survival rates over the next five years.

In January 2015, NHS England announced an independent Cancer Taskforce to develop a five-year strategy to improve cancer outcomes, including survival rates. The taskforce published a statement of intent in March and will publish the strategy in the summer. We will work with the National Health Service, charities and patient groups to deliver the new strategy.
