Question to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, if he will have discussions with broadcasters on free-to-view broadcasting of international football matches involving the home nations.

The Government recognises the important role that sport plays in all our lives and a Free-to-Air Listed Events regime has operated in the UK for many years. Taking into account the list, it is a commercial matter for the broadcasters as to what sporting events they choose to bid for and how they show them.
