Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, how much the Government has received in charges levied by the Child Maintenance Service in the latest period for which figures are available.

The income from Child Maintenance fees and charges for 2016/17 was £14.568m. This is published in the 2016/17 DWP annual report and accounts. Charges only generate a tiny amount of the overall cost of running the CMS, which remains heavily funded by the taxpayer.
