Note that the above figures show the number of firms with a legal aid contract in each given year. A firm may have multiple offices which offer legal aid.
The LAA reviews provision on a regular basis to identify any areas where action is required to maintain service provision. A new tender process for all civil legal aid contracts is due to launch shortly, with services under these contracts beginning in autumn 2018.
