Prisoners: Ethnic Groups and Religion

Question to the Ministry of Justice:
To ask Her Majesty's Government what was the prison population in England and Wales in each of the last five years (1) broken down by ethnic group, and (2) further subdivided by religion.

The total prison population also includes those held on remand or under sentence, immigration detainees and those convicted of civil offences.
Figures of five and fewer have been suppressed in order to protect the potential identification of individuals.
