Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask Her Majesty's Government, further to the Written Statement by Baroness Williams of Trafford on 23 October (HLWS190) announcing further support for women from Northern Ireland seeking an abortion in England, what assessment they have made of the impact of the extension of that support on the process of devolution to Northern Ireland.

The provision of funded termination of pregnancy services in England for women from Northern Ireland does not change the position in relation to the provision of abortions in Northern Ireland, which is a matter for the Northern Ireland Executive and the Northern Ireland Assembly. Our proposals do not include the provision of any services in Northern Ireland.
