Question to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy:

To ask Her Majesty’s Government, in the light of Brexit, what plans they have to encourage investment in the car production industry.

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy works closely with the UK automotive industry including through the Automotive Council to understand the issues and opportunities the sector faces. The Government will continue its successful and longstanding programme of support for the competitiveness of the automotive sector, including pursuing a bold and ambitious Free Trade Agreement with the EU that provides the greatest possible tariff free and frictionless trade in goods and services.
