Antimicrobials: Drug Resistance

Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask Her Majesty's Government what assessment they have made of antimicrobial resistance during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This question was answered on 26th January 2022
The UK Health Security Agency undertakes continuous surveillance for antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Data showed that the AMR burden increased annually between 2016 and 2019, before declining in 2020 at the beginning of the pandemic. Data for 2021 is still under review.
