Increase sentences and create a public database for dog cruelty offenders

I think the government should increase the sentences for dog abusers, including an automatic ban on future dog ownership. I also think there needs to be a public database that can be accessed to see who has been convicted as an dog abuser.

Hundreds of dogs are subject to abuse at the hands of their owners, whether that’s neglect, physical abuse or even death.

I think the consequences of these actions are minute, and that it is too easy for abusers to go on to reoffend, and there should be tougher measures put in place. A public system that allows the public to see who has been convicted of abusing dogs would be helpful.
