I am petitioning for parents, and legal guardians/carers of children and adults with special needs and disabilities to have a right to be present at Local Authority decision panels, when decisions are being made regarding their care and education (eg. EHCPs and social care).

This is my petition for families, guardians and carers to be allowed to be present at LA decision panels. We believe families, guardians and carers need to be able to advocate for the needs of the person they care for, from the perspective of lived-experience. We think some requests are being dismissed by decision panels without adequate insight or understanding. These decisions can have a life affecting impact.
