Do not support the Health and Equality Acts (Amendment) Bill

I am concerned that the Bill would restrict access to gender affirming care for trans children, such as hormone therapy. It would mean that healthcare professionals who provide this care could be prosecuted.

I think the Bill could prevent trans children from socially transitioning at school and could lead to an increase in serious mental health problems among transgender youth, with potentially tragic consequences.

I think the Government should listen to real stories and consider the future for transgender individuals, to help create a safe, more accepting world. I believe this Bill would challenge current efforts to help marginalised groups and could worsen mental health issues in the UK for those who are transgender or questioning their gender identity.
