We want the act fully repealed. Temporary provisions lapsed in 2022, but we feel its framework lingering risks future democratic overreach. We think repeal restores normal oversight, ends emergency-era controls, & reflects lessons learned. We believe temporary measures should not outlast their need.

We feel the Act represented the largest implemented expansion of state power since the Second World War.
We think existing legislation such as the Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984 and/or Civil Contingencies Act 2004, exist to deal with future health emergencies, without sweeping powers that we feel received little scrutiny or democratic oversight prior to Royal Assent.
Repealing this Act emphasises democratic principles, civil liberties, and lessons learned from COVID-19.
