Allow parents to take children out of school for educational, overnight trips

Allow parents and carers to take their children out of school to attend overnight educational trips. We think that permitting this could enable children with additional needs to participate in trips at potentially quieter times. This could ensure they feel safe and are included.

Regrettably, many children with additional needs currently miss out on overnight educational trips as they are at increased risk of feeling overwhelmed, becoming distressed, or experiencing separation anxiety from their guardians.

We believe that those with parental responsibility should have the option to take their children out of school to attend overnight educational trips that align with school-organised activities. This could ensure all children receive a comprehensive education and all children are included.
