Launch a review of the Domestic Abuse Protection Order system

We urge the Government to launch an urgent review of the Domestic Abuse Protection Order (DAPO) system in order to look into reforming the system. Currently, DAPOs can be issued where there is insufficient evidence to charge someone who is accused of perpetrating domestic abuse.

We want this review in order to prevent possible misuse of the system. We believe that innocent people, particularly men, could be subjected to life upheavals by possible misuse of what we believe is a well-intentioned system and process. We believe the current system may disregard the possible likelihood of those who are accused of being victims themselves.
