Northampton is notingly one of the UK's largest standing towns, with a suitable city size population of 240,000 residents surpassing major urban cities like Lincoln, Norwich, Cambridge and Peterborough. With a rich history, a strong economy, and a roman Catholic Cathedral, It has royal roots, a renowned industrial past, and is a growing regional hub. Granting city status for the town would boost civic pride, attract investment, a newer regional city, and recognise its true national importance.
