Hold a public inquiry into the planning, analysis and delivery of Brexit

We ask the Government to establish a public inquiry to evaluate the planning, analysis, delivery, and communication surrounding the EU Exit process. We believe there is widespread concern that claims and expectations presented to the public were not supported by sufficient planning or analysis.

A public inquiry could assess whether the public received accurate information, whether Brexit implementation was sufficiently prepared using thorough analysis and fact-finding, and whether institutional capability matched the scale of the policy. In the event of a deficit analysis and/or planning, the inquiry could provide a prioritised, exhaustive list of sectors and industries that require additional support to ensure the EU Exit does not leave the UK worse off than before it left the EU.
