Hold a binding referendum before reducing the current voting age

We believe the Government’s decision to reduce the voting age to 16 should be based on a formal, binding referendum of the current electorate.

The potential social and national impact of a reduced voting age (which we feel is not justifiable on the simplistic basis that 16 yr olds pay tax - most don't!) could be significant and we believe it should NOT be left to MPs. Whilst part of their manifesto, I believe the Government’s total vote in 2024 is NOT a sufficient mandate to proceed solely on a Parliamentary vote.
