Current RSHE focuses mainly on reproduction, contraception & sexually transmitted infections. It does not adequately cover gynaecological conditions, menstrual disorders, pelvic pain, hormonal health beyond contraception, or how to recognise abnormal symptoms & seek medical help. Conditions such as endometriosis, adenomyosis, fibroids & PCOS affect a significant proportion of women & girls. Many report years of delayed diagnosis, often because they did not realise their symptoms were not normal.
