Make giving death threats over politics a criminal offence

So many brave people standing up for this country have been presented with death threats and an assassination like that of the late Charlie Kirk's. We should stop this as it is a threat to our people and a threat to our democracy. Politicians such as Rupert Lowe have been faced with this, vile.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. It is already an offence to make "threats to kill" under s16 of the Offences Against the Persons Act 1861, and death threats may also be prosecuted under other legislation, for instance s181 of the Online Safety Act 2023 "Threatening communications offence". We are therefore not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
