Blimey rural crime is “out of control” notwithstanding almost 11 years of Conservative Govt .. Fly tipping’s not confined to “rural” areas and “illegal encampments” don’t break the criminal law but why let the facts get in the way when you’re pandering to populist prejudice https://t.co/EDAh3Uslt3

Mike Gapes is one of the best politicians I’ve ever known - hard working, passionate and principled. He’s not alone - Ann Coffey @joanryanEnfield @ChrisLeslieUK showed remarkable courage when they left the Labour Party to start something new. Proud to call them my friends. https://t.co/9bfhr6OrjI

Key ones for me - those countries who have fared best in health terms * acted quickly * closed borders * effective test & trace * used lockdown times to build resilience * had a health service that wasn’t under pressure pre pandemic * and strong responsible political leadership

I need some convincing to back #CovidPassports We’re hitting our vaccine targets and hospital admissions are well down. If other countries demand proof of a vaccine in addition to a negative test before entry that’s their right & I’m OK with that.

I’m a former Conservative MP & Minster not a natural Guardian reader u may think. At 64 I read this front page - all of it - & despair. I could weep because despite a lot of positive change we have failed to make the progress we should have made. https://t.co/Qcv3AbG4FE
