Tree Planting
Thursday 9th July 2026

Asked by: James Asser (Labour - West Ham and Beckton)

Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what steps she is taking to help increase the number of trees planted.

Answered by Mary Creagh

We are investing over £1 billion this Parliament in tree planting and forestry - driving the highest planting rates in two decades. Backed by three new national forests, this is real investment delivering for nature, climate, communities and the economy. We're proud to be growing Britain's woodlands after years of neglect.
