Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, with reference to the Prime Minister's speech of 15 August 2011 calling for a family test to be applied to all domestic policy, which policies of his Department have been so assessed to date.

Answered by Dan Poulter

On 18 August 2014 the Prime Minister announced that the family test was being formalised as part of the impact assessment for all domestic policies. From October 2014, every new domestic policy will be examined for its impact on the family.

Family Nurse Partnership Programme

Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, how many Family Nurse Partnership places there were in each year since 2010; and what progress the Government has made on its target of doubling the number of such places by 2015.

Answered by Dan Poulter

The commitment the Government made in 2010 to double the amount of places on the Family Nurse Partnership from a baseline of 6,000 was achieved by March 2014. It is currently expected that by 2015 there will be at least 16,000 places available. The figures for the end of each financial year since 2010 are as follows:

March 2011 – 6,000

March 2012 – 9,000

March 2013 – 11,000

March 2014 – 13,000

March 2015 - 16,000 expected
