Trust our pharmasists to decide if prescribed medicines that have been returned unused can be reissued or destroyed removing the current blanket ban that is costing the NHS many millions of pounds each year.

The only reason not to accept the return right now is because the patients may have tampered with them in some way. The chances of this being the case are tiny and with packaging technology improving every year the time has come to trust patients and pharmasists to reduce NHS wastage drastically by allowing pharmasists to make the judgement on their reuse.
