Lower the fee for naturalisation as a British citizen

The current fee for naturalisation for adults is £1330. The fee for registering a child as a British citizen is £1012. These should be lowered to the cost to the Home Office of processing the application.

The Home Office's own internal data has shown that these fees are 3–4 times higher than the true cost of processing the application. For many people who have lived in the UK for many years and to all intents and purposes feel British, citizenship is prohibitively expensive.
