Allow employees to claim the 80% income support directly from the Government

The Government’s Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme pays employers a grant to cover 80% of the wages, up to £2,500 a month, of employees who have been put on temporary leave.

The Government should change this scheme so that employees affected by coronavirus, who are currently employed or have been in the last three months, can directly claim 80% of their wages from the Government, without this needing to be claimed by their employer.
