Supervised Group Outdoor Yoga to be Allowed During All COVID-19 Alert Levels

Isolation is essential to the Government’s strategy for fighting coronavirus and UK citizens must remain healthy during lockdown whilst adhering to social distancing measures. To support this, the Government should allow supervised socially distanced outdoor yoga classes for health and wellbeing.

This petition was rejected on 14th Dec 2020 as the proposed action is already occurring

The Petition Committee commented:
The national lockdown in England ended on 2 December. Under the new local restriction tiers, organised outdoor sport, physical activity and exercise classes can continue. See: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/local-restriction-tiers-what-you-need-to-know If there are specific changes you would like to see made to the new tier system, you could start a new petition calling for those changes.

Yoga is beneficial for people with high blood pressure, heart disease, aches and pains (including lower back pain), depression and stress - it’s a natural form of anxiety relief. Adhering to social distancing rules can be achieved during a supervised outdoor yoga class; these classes are crucial for mental health and wellbeing.
