Devolve broadcasting and regulation of the media to the Welsh Government

We want powers over broadcasting and regulation of the media to be devolved to the Welsh Government, to enable the setting of standards which are diverse and pluralistic, with strong accountability of media producers to Welsh citizens and Welsh public opinion.

We believe that the fact broadcasting and regulation of the media is controlled by the UK Government creates a "Democratic deficit", and that devolving these powers would enable the Welsh Government and Welsh Parliament to reform broadcasting and the media in Wales to improve coverage of Welsh issues and politics, and enable scrutiny of politicians which can affect political outcomes.
