The Government should create a new offence making it illegal for media organisations to make statements which could incite public panic.

Each time the press says there will be shortages it starts panic buying. This makes life difficult for everyone else and can contribute to shortages, altercations and profiteering.

A new offence prohibiting statements from the media that could cause public panic should prevent this from occurring in the future.
