Hold a referendum on sending deadly weapons to Ukraine

Government policy assumes Russia is an aggressor with no grounds for its actions, but Ukraine-Russian history is complex. Sending weapons to Ukraine is high risk, ethically controversial and hasn't been democratically agreed. Alternatives, including further attempts at peace, must be considered.

By painting the conflict as black and white without properly considering the historical context the Government is risking the well-being and even lives of UK citizens without adequate consultation. An intelligent, fact-based debate is urgently needed. A practical way to achieve this would be to hold a referendum so the pros and cons could be fully explored and debated, and so that UK citizens could democratically decide whether to spend many millions on weapons or on peacekeeping instead.
