Hold a referendum on using Alternative Vote (AV) for general elections

It has been more than a decade since we were last given the chance to change the way we vote. We think it’s time we got better representation in Parliament and that the current system has produced only chaos, where two parties rule.

We think the the AV system produces better representation of the people.

In the AV system, you pick candidates in order of preference. If your first choice is knocked out your vote goes to the second and so on.

This means your vote can still count even if your first choice wasn’t popular enough to win. We think this better represents the feelings of the nation and its people and parties must compromise in the interest of all.
