Require planning permission and public consultation to fell any tree

We believe current protections for trees, including Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs) are insufficient. We believe rules for felling trees should be amended to more closely reflect planning rules for property development.

I want the Government to place the same protections on changes to trees as there are on other major changes to a property, including planning permission and a requirement for public consultation. We think that most important is a consultation phase where the changes being made are clearly laid out and objections can be raised.
