Require GPs to send any patient with a lump for further testing

I want the Government to put in place a law that if any lump in any part of the body is found, it will be looked at in a 2 week timeframe. This could be known as Melissa’s Law.

Any lump found should be referred as urgent as it could be life-changing.

I want a Melissa’s Law because I myself have been through this and I’m now battling terminal cancer. Only ten years after I first noticed I had a lump was I sent for further examinations, which led to me eventually having it removed. So it took over 10 years for me to get a diagnosis and have it removed.

I’m now battling terminal cancer because that lump was left for so long. If it was removed straight away it would not have come to this.
