Fund more permanent NHS roles for newly qualified student nurses

We want the Government to guarantee employment for newly qualified student nurses by providing funding to ensure there are more permanent NHS roles, improved workforce planning, and that graduates can transition directly into secure employment to support patient care and NHS staffing.

Student nurses dedicate 3 years and need to complete over 2,300 hours of unpaid placements, providing hands-on patient care that the NHS depends on daily. After sacrificing time, income, and wellbeing to qualify, we feel it is heartbreaking to face unemployment. We believe it wastes skilled professionals while the NHS remains understaffed. The Government should fund guaranteed jobs so student nurses can serve patients and secure the future of the NHS.
