During Uzbekistan's Universal Periodic Review at the UN Human Rights Council on 9 May we asked the government of Uzbekistan what action they were taking to address restrictions on religious groups other than officially sanctioned religions. We welcome the recent adoption by the Uzbek government of an action plan on freedom of religion or belief which includes measures to simplify registration procedures for religious groups and minorities and facilitate expression of religion or belief.
