Question to the Department for Transport:
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what assessment she has made of the economic impact of rail service reliability in North East Hampshire.
The Department has not made a specific assessment of the economic impact of rail service reliability in North East Hampshire. However, the Department’s rail appraisal guidance recognises that reliability and punctuality affect passenger benefits, journey times and wider economic outcomes, and these factors are considered when assessing rail investment and service improvements.
The Department and the Office of Rail and Road monitor rail performance across the network, recognising that reliable rail services are important for supporting productivity, employment and economic growth.
