Question to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government:

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, what estimate his Department has made of the number of additional environmental health officers and enforcement staff local authorities will require to exercise the new enforcement powers under the Renters’ Rights Act; what estimate his Department has made of associated funding requirements; and whether his Department has identified councils at greatest risk of insufficient enforcement capacity.
