Question to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government:
To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, pursuant to the answer of 1 July 2026, to Question 5341, on Radicalism: Islam, what assessment his Department has made of the potential impact of the activities of the Muslim Brotherhood on community cohesion and integration of Islamist sectarianism.
As the Department with responsibility for Counter Extremism policy since 2024, Home Office oversees the assessment of the extremist threat landscape and will advise and share information to help inform the decisions of other departments, including MHCLG.
It is a long-standing policy for the government not to comment on individuals or groups. We are committed to continually building our understanding of the extremist threat landscape and monitor groups that pose a threat to national security.
Where the actions of individuals or groups cross a legal threshold, we will act to prevent harm and to safeguard susceptible individuals.
