Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what estimate he has made of the number of driving tests that have been booked by automated bots and re-sold at an inflated price since 1 January 2023.

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) is aware that there has been abuse of driving test booking systems, and is taking action to respond to it.

The DVSA does not hold the number of driving tests that have been booked by automated bots and the DVSA is continuing to take steps to block cancellation services from accessing the booking system. These applications, however, are constantly evolving and changing, and the DVSA’s work on this is ongoing.
