Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, further to the Answer of 24 June 2014, Official Report, column 151W, on family planning, what definition his Department uses for (a) contraceptive and (b) abortifacient.

Contraception is licenced to prevent pregnancy prior to implantation. An abortificient ends an established pregnancy post implantation.
