The average waiting time for a driving test (measured in weeks) in each year since 2010 was:

Vehicle Type2010/112011/122012/132013/14
Car7.96.56.26.2
Motorcycle Mod 13.42.53.42.0
Motorcycle Mod 23.93.13.52.2
Vocational3.12.92.92.8
ADI part 23.43.63.83.8
ADI part 34.34.13.9

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency measures the average waiting times by financial year not calendar year. The waiting times for Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) part 2 and part 3 tests were not measured separately until 2011/2012.

For 2010/11 and 2012/13 all waiting times were service standards and for the 2011/12 amd 2013/14 they were internal measures. The targets (in weeks) are included in the table below.

Vehicle Type2010/112011/12 2012/13 2013/14

Motorcycle Mod 16.06.06.06.0
Motorcycle Mod 26.06.06.06.0
