Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what steps he is taking to prevent patients from being incorrectly denied access to medicinal cannabis.

The decision to prescribe a cannabis-based product for medicinal use is one for individual clinicians to make, as part of a multidisciplinary team and in partnership with patients and their families.

It would be inappropriate to second-guess the prescribing decisions of clinicians, who will be experts in their area and bear responsibility for prescribing.
