To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what is the full scope of the 2nd Generation UK Aviation Search and Rescue programme.

The UKSAR2G (UK Second-Generation Search and Rescue Aviation) programme delivers the next generation of HM Coastguard aviation services, replacing existing helicopter and fixed-wing contracts. It aims to improve search and rescue coverage, enhance value for money, support wider government agencies, and introduce innovation such as unmanned aircraft and advanced digital systems. The programme combines rescue, aerial surveillance, and environmental monitoring capabilities to ensure a resilient, modern service that continues saving lives around the UK.
