HMRC spent £5.5 million in 2024-25 and £15.2 million in 2025-26 on activities that were subject to the Government Communication Service's Advertising, Marketing and Communications (AMC) spending controls process. The additional investment in 2025-26 has been used to help increase the use of digital services and to help taxpayers prepare for the introduction of Making Tax Digital for Income Tax.

The Valuation Office Agency did not have any communications, marketing or advertising activity that was subject to the AMC spending controls process during this period.
