Question to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government:
To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, what assessment she has made of the potential impact of the requirement for lead applicants to the Ending Homelessness in Communities Fund to have an annual income of under £5 million on the eligibility of charities whose income includes Housing Benefit received in connection with supported accommodation; and whether she plans to review the treatment of such income in future funding rounds.
The Ending Homelessness in Communities Fund was established to support voluntary, community and faith sector organisations delivering homelessness and rough sleeping services, with an annual income below £5 million.
This eligibility criterion was set out in the published prospectus and applied consistently to all applicants.
The Department has not made a specific assessment of the impact of this requirement on charities whose income includes Housing Benefit received in connection with supported accommodation. Eligibility was assessed against an organisation's overall annual income as reported in its financial accounts.
