Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, with reference to his Department's press release entitled Almost 180 more Youth Hubs to help young people build skills and find jobs, published on 15 June 2026, whether his Department plans to publish (a) the deadline for organisations to register their interest with Jobcentre Service Leaders to establish a new Youth Hub and (b) guidance for organisations wishing to establish a new Youth Hub, including information on the application process and eligibility criteria.

With around one million young people not in education, employment or training, the Government is investing an additional £2.5 billion by 2029 through the Youth Guarantee and Growth and Skills Levy. This will support almost one million young people, create up to 500,000 opportunities to earn and learn, and expand access to workplace experience, training and employment.

Youth Hubs are a key part of the Youth Guarantee. Their expansion will increase coverage to more than 360 locations across Great Britain between 2026 and 2029, ensuring more young people aged 16 to 24 can access employment, skills and training support in their local area.

Youth Hubs are developed and delivered locally through partnerships between Jobcentres, local authorities and community organisations. There is therefore no centrally managed application process or deadline for organisations wishing to establish a Youth Hub. We encourage interested organisations to engage with their local Jobcentre Plus Service Leader, who can provide information on local processes and facilitate discussions on setting up a Youth Hub.

Proposals are considered based on local need, readiness and the strength of existing partnerships. While there are no centrally set eligibility criteria, all Youth Hubs must meet a core minimum service blueprint, ensuring young people can access joined-up employment, skills, housing and wellbeing support in their communities.
