Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what estimate her Department has made of the cost to the public purse of adding sickle cell disease to the list of medical conditions conferring exemption from prescription charges; and what estimate she has made of the number of people in England with sickle cell disease who pay for NHS prescriptions.

I refer the Hon Member to the answer provided to the Hon Member for North Devon on 18 August in response to Question 18253.
