Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, whether consideration was given to sending press releases to news media and weather reporters before each of the following ozone episodes: a) 25 and 27 May, b) 25 June, c) 9 July, and d) 13 and 14 August.

We work closely with the Met Office, UKHSA and the third sector during pollution episodes, and are exploring greater engagement with the media and broadcast meteorologists to incorporate air quality information into weather reporting.
